Enrol to Vote Week preparations are underway in over 1500 secondary schools across Australia. There’s still time for schools to sign up to participate before Enrol to Vote Week starts on 27 July.

Schools and colleges with 17 and 18 year old students can now register to participate in Enrol to Vote Week 2009. To register you’ll need to find your school in our list (or add it if it isn’t there) and nominate a teacher or senior student to be your coordinator. Coordinators arrange an Enrol to Vote Week event or activity for your students, with support from the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC).

"It is your right and responsibility if you’re an Australian citizen to enrol and vote as soon as you turn 18, but if you’re 17 years old remember that you can also enrol now so you’re ready to vote as soon as you turn 18."
